The government of Rajasthan offered a big relief for farmers on Thursday by lifting the ban on tube well digging in Jaisalmer. The government sanctioned files for 1051 tube wells and issued an order in this regard to DISCOMs and groundwater officers.
For the last six years, there was an undeclared ban on digging tube wells on own land. Taking cognizance on over 1,000 cases, district collector OP Kasera called a meeting of officers and ordered to sanction files.
Kisan Jagriti Manch had started agitation over the agriculture connection a few days back that reached the state government later. On approval, the government issued the directions on Tuesday that DISCOM will directly permit connections. Later, the department made some committee rules to give approval.

Desert farmers to dig the gold
The government of Rajasthan took a revolutionary decision in favor of the farmers and approved the tubewell connections. Now around 20,000 acres of land will get water for irrigation. Although Jaisalmer district has the least population compared with other districts, the desert land has hidden underground treasures. Jaisalmer farmers have to struggle to get groundwater but if the miracle happens, they dig the gold.
Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje cares about the farmers and planned some revolutionary schemes for them. Be it Crop loan waiver or interest-free loans, CM Raje has made effective plans for farmer welfare. CM Raje seriously follows the ideology of the party for farmer welfare.
The number of tube wells approved will be a revolution in agriculture and 20,000 acres of land will receive water. The fruitful land in Jaisalmer will give a wide smile on the farmer’s face. The land of the desert will give gold in form of crops to the farmers that will strengthen the economic condition of the state. Henceforth, Jaisalmer farmers to dig the gold out of the desert land.
