Last year in November 2017 reports were doing the rounds that Anushka Sharma could be seen in the upcoming movie Jasmine playing the role of a surrogate mother. However, the latest media news suggests that the makers of the film are interested to rope in Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for the role.
The film is being made by KriArj Entertainment, a production company that has collaborated with Shree Narayan Singh. This is the third collaboration between the two after movies like Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and upcoming flick Batti Gul Meter Chalu. Talking about the film in question, it has got a powerful title- Jasmine: Story of a Leased Womb.
This time, the direction will not be handled by Narayan, rather it will be managed by Siddhartha and Garima who had earlier written script for oilet Ek Prem Katha and Batti Gul Meter Chalu. The film Jasmine will mark as the directorial debut of the duo. The film will go on floors later this year and will be shot in parts of Rajasthan and Gujarat.
It’s a woman centric film that narrates the story of a woman who doesn’t want to have children but wants to have kids for others through surrogacy. The story is actually inspired from the real life incident of a woman from Gujarat who becomes a surrogate mother for someone else but after a certain point of time; she realizes that she wants the child back.
Reportedly, Prerna Arora from KriArj Entertainment, who is already collaborating with Aishwarya for the upcoming film Fanne Khan, says that Aishwarya is the top most preference for the role. Although the actor has still not signed the film as it depends on the dates and schedule, the makers are hoping she would say yes to the project.
Talking about the future projects of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the actress will be seen with Anil Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao in her upcoming flick Fanney Khan. In this, she is reportedly going to play the role of a famous singer and a fan of Lata Mangeshkar. Interestingly, she is a fan of the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar in real life as well.
