Japanese PM Shinzo Abe India Visit
A great achievement and economic boost for Rajasthan as it is set to get a second special Japanese Industrial zone in Ghiloth on nearly 500 acres of land. This zone will focus on sectors like ceramics and electronic systems design and manufacturing. The announcement for the second zone was made at the Investor’s meet in Tokyo in year 2015.
Rajasthan already has a special Japanese Industrial Zone at Neemrana in Alwar district. For the Japanese zone, Rajasthan State Industrial Development & Investment Corporation Ltd (RIICO) has earmarked 1,167 acres of land at Neemrana. Many Indian and Japanese companies including Daikin, Mikuni India Pvt. Ltd., Nissin Brake, Mytex Polymer, TPR Autoparts Manufacturing India Pvt. Ltd. and Nippon Pipe, among others have invested in this venture.
During the meeting of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe two years ago, plans to double Japan’s foreign direct investment in India in upcoming years and work closely towards further expanding their bilateral trade were made. The special Japanese Industrial Zone in Neemrana, Rajasthan is the outcome of a special economic partnership between Japan and Rajasthan.
The Japanese Zone at Neemrana, was build under an MOU was signed between RIICO and JETRO on 21 July 2006. RIICO is a premier agency of Government of Rajasthan that has played an important role in the industrial development of Rajasthan, while JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization), is a government-related organization that works to promote mutual trade and investment between Japan and the rest of the world. As Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is on a two-day visit in India, Rajasthan is expected to benefit greatly from this visit.
