ISRO is celebrating a century as it launched its 100th satellite.  Today is sure a big day for ISRO and the entire team. Heading the country’s satellite system, ISRO has done the country proud by launching and introducing the country to its own immense capabilities in the field of space and Universe.

Today, ISRO launched its 100th satellite. Not only this, it also launched its 30 other spacecraft including weather observation Cartosat 2 series.

According to ISRO, the Cartosat-2 series satellite carries panchromatic and multi-spectral cameras operating in Time Delay Integration mode and is capable of delivering high resolution data.

As far as the other 30 spacecrafts are concerned, the 28 of them are international customer satellites which were launched as part of the commercial arrangements between ISRO and its commercial arm Antrix Corporation Ltd.

The spacecrafts were housed by representatives of different countries including — Canada, Finland, France, Korea, the United Kingdom and US.

“Launch vehicle technology is complex, tough and challenging. That’s why it’s called risky business. Hence, we need success to build customer confidence and grow business. Present launch has done that,” said Kiran Kumar. “Basically…the 100 satellites covers all student satellites also that have been put (by ISRO),” he added.
