The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje introduced the affordable canteens throughout the state, which is known as the Annapurna Rasoi. The Rajasthan government has given a practical meaning to the word “Annapurna”. These canteens provide hygienic food at minimal and subsidized rates to the needy people of the state. The scheme was launched with the tagline “Sabke Liye Bhojan, Sabke Liye Samaan “ ( food for all, respect for all ). With this scheme, the government is working on the future goal of self-sufficient Rajasthan.
This scheme aims at helping the laborers, rickshaw pullers, auto rickshaw drivers, students, working women, senior citizens and others to have breakfast and lunch at affordable rates.
The breakfast under the Annapurna Yojana will be sold at just Rs 5 while the lunch will be available for Rs 8 only. The actual cost of the meal would be Rs23.70 for lunch and Rs 21.70 for breakfast. The rest of the amount will be funded by the state government.
This scheme has been launched at divisional headquarters in 12 districts and slowly the government is expanding it to cover the entire state following the success in these districts. Following are the districts where the scheme has been already launched:
Now Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje ji in a meeting held today on 19 July have decided to expand the benefits of this Yojana at the district level hospitals too. Due to the positive feedback received by this schemes benefitting the people Vasundhara Raje ji have decided to expand this scheme. Now the benefits of this Yojana will also be provided to the patients and their relatives. The government also aims to increase the number of vans under this scheme by 500 till December 2017.
The meals under this scheme will be cooked and served by the staff trained in hospitality. The staff working under this scheme will also have a unique uniform along with gloves, caps, and apron.
Apart from this Yojana she also focused on the analysis of the schemes like Smart Street Lighting Project, HRIDAY (heritage city development and augmentation Yojana), door to door garbage collection, planting of the trees in the urban areas etc.
Apart from this, projects like Smart City Mission, Amrit Mission, sewerage project in the various cities and beautification of the four walls of Jaipur were also the topic of discussion.
All these efforts are an example of the fact that the Raje government is successfully preceding on its pathway for creating a heavenly Rajasthan.
