“We will hold an inquiry and initiate action if anyone registers a complaint,” assured Ved Prakash, SEC spokesperson.

Rajnath Singh is also an MP from Lucknow who came to vote at the Nursery Municipal School at Mall Avenue. He was clicked while walking out of the room by all paparazzi which had surrounded the venue.

The opposition parties are so idle that they literally filed a protest against Rajnath Singh. The opposition parties included the Samajwadi Party, Congress.

The matter grew so serious that the booth officers were forced to remove that painting of Lotus on the wall behind EVM. The painting was inadvertently placed on the wall. The classroom was set up with EVM machines so that ministers and VVIPS’s could cast their vote. Polling continued for over three hours.

“It is a gross violation of the code of conduct. It was a deliberate attempt and misuse of official machinery to benefit the ruling BJP and its candidates,” alleged Capt SJS Makker, a Congress spokesperson.

Questioning the role of BJP in this case, Vijay Bahadur Pathak, BJP state general secretary asked, “Where is the BJP at fault. Polling officials seem to have forgotten to remove the painting which unnecessarily created a controversy at the Mall Avenue polling booth.”
