It is great to see the continuous developments taking place in the desert state of Rajasthan. Adding to this, Rajasthan government has gifted Mega Food Park to Ajmer district. This is the first ever food park of the state. On 29th March 2018, Union Food Processing Industries Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal has inaugurated the first Mega Food Park in Ajmer in Rajasthan. In this project, ₹ 113.57 crores has been invested.

In the central processing center (CPC) of this Mega Food Park, cold storage of five thousand metric tonnes, deep freeze of 2550 metric ton capacity, two metric ton / hour Dry warehouse for IQF, dry godown for 2500 metric ton dry raw material as well as 5 thousand metric ton finished goods, 6500 metric tonne silos, 10 metric tons / per hour Packed houses, steam generators of eight metric tuck capacity and other related processing facilities.

How will this Mega Food Park benefit people?
It is said that this Mega Food Park is expected to have an annual turnover of 450-500 crore rupees. The best thing about this park is that almost 5000 people will be employed directly and indirectly. This park will also bring benefits to 25000 farmers in CPC catchment areas. With this park, the growers, processors, consumers of Rajasthan state and adjoin areas will be benefitted. Undoubtedly, this park is expected to bring boost to the food processing sector in state.

Greentech Mega Food Park follows the best processing techniques like post-harvest management, cold chain infrastructure, packaging, food safety and standards creating an enabling support infrastructure. Mega food parks will facilitate food processing through cluster based approach. It will also enhance the value chain from farm to market with strong forward and backward linkages.
