PM Modi pledges to create New India by 2022

Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated all citizens on the 75th anniversary of the Quit India Movement.

NaMo highlighted the contributions and leadership of Mahatma Gandhi. PM wrote: “Under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi, the entire nation came together with the aim of attaining freedom.”

“In 1942, the need of the hour was to free India from colonialism. Today, 75 years later the issues are different,” PM Modi added.

NaMo then urged all Indians to work towards building a New India. He asked people to pledge to free India from poverty, dirt, corruption, terrorism, casteism, communalism and remove all barriers to create a New India. He says an India free from these shackles is the India of our dreams by 2022.

2017: A year of Resolve

“We must make 2017 our Year of Resolve. In this month of August, we have to come together and resolve: Filth – Quit India; Poverty – Quit India; Corruption – Quit India; Terrorism – Quit India; Casteism – Quit India; Communalism – Quit India,” Modi said in his Hindi address.

SankalpSeSiddhi: PM Modi’s novice catchphrase

He added, “Let us work shoulder to shoulder to create the India that our freedom fighters would be proud of. #SankalpSeSiddhi (Attainment through Resolve).”

In the monthly edition of PM Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’, he emphasized on the next mega campaign ‘Sankalp Se Siddhi’ In his podcast, he urged and appealed to all student, youth organizations and NGO’s to organize group discussions for evolving new ideas and innovations in the country.

The month of August

PM Modi then started to communicate the link between the month of August and the Quit India Movement. He quoted a series of revolutionary events which took place in the month of August. The non-cooperation movement which launched on August 1, 1920, followed by the Quit India Movement on August 9, 1942, and the final taste of Independence on August 15, 1947, makes August a crucial month for India.
