In order to make necessary arrangements at the refinery site, the state machinery has already swung into action. Barmer’s district collector Shivprasad Nakate visited the site on Wednesday and reviewed the status of the preparations. He also conducted a meeting with the concerned officials. Currently, the boundary wall is being constructed and the refinery is expected to be fully operation in around four years.

As per the agreement, the HPCL has a 74% stake while the state government holds a 26% stake in the new firm called HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Limited (HRRL). The total incurred cost of the project is around INR 43,129 Crores. While signing the MoU, CM Raje had revealed that the new agreement led to significant savings worth INR 40,000 Crores.

Talking about the NNM, the union cabinet has approved its establishment on December 1, with a three year of budget worth INR 9,046.17 Crores beginning 2017-18. The project is aimed at monitoring, supervising, fixing targets, and guiding the nutrition related interventions across the ministries.

The proposal consists of mapping schemes that have contributed in addressing malnutrition and includes introducing a robust mechanism with IT-based monitoring system. It also aims at offering incentives to the states for meeting the targets and incentivizing anganwadi workers who used IT-based tools.

The program will strive to cover all the states and districts in phases- 315 in 2017-18, 235 in 2018-19, and the rest of them in 2019-20. The targets fixed by the program include- reducing stunted growth, malnutrition, anemia and low birth weight of babies.
