Anguished over deaths in unseasonal rains and storm, PM Modi announces ex-gratia

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday expressed sorrow over the loss of lives in various parts of Rajasthan, MP, and Gujarat due to unseasonal rain. PM Modi National Relief Fund granted permission to give ex-gratia of Rs. 2 Lakh for the next of kin of those who lost their lives in unseasonal rains and storms. Also an ex-gratia of Rs 51,000 to injured.

    PMO India tweeted-

    In another tweet, the prime minister’s office said, PM Modi, has approved an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund.

    According to the reports, nearly 10 lost their lives due to sudden rains and thunderstorms in Rajasthan. In total, more than 30 lost their lives in affected states in the last two days.

    Amid these weather conditions, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Sabarkantha has also been canceled today. He was scheduled to address an election rally today but some tents and hoardings in the venue were destroyed in the dust storm.
