Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working with the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas’ which is the 21st-century avatar of Abtyodaya- the idea propounded by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay back then. Today is Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay’s 102nd birth anniversary.

Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay was born on September 25, 1916, in the Nagala Chandraban in Mathura district of U.P. Pandit joined the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) during his college days and later worked as a full-time worker.

An organizer, leader, missionary in the service of the nation- Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay was all of these and more. The Bharatiya Janata Party, which was founded by Pandit Upadhyay along with Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerji, is in the power with the full majority.

Later, when Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerji founded Bharatiya Jan Sangh (BJS) in RSS leadership, Upadhyay had joined the party. He was made the party General Secretary.

Why do modern politics need to follow the vision of Pandit Upadhyay?

Programs and policies of BJP government envision the ideals of Deendayal Upadhyay, which are now being realized by Prime Minister Modi. The Government under PM Modi is making efforts to empower the marginalized section of the society and ensuring social justice for all. The Antyodaya vision is now playing a crucial role in modern politics.

Pandit Upadhyay groomed leaders like Atal Bihari Vajpayee, LK Advani, Nanaji Deshmukh and many more who took BJS, and later Bharatiya Janta Party, to new heights. His close associate and confidante, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, became Prime Minister of the country in 1996.

Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay was one of those extraordinary personalities who inspired modern Indian politics to stand on the organic foundation of humanity. Upadhyay’s followers and opponents appreciated his greatness even after his death.

Hence the modern politics needs to follow the vision of Pandit Upadhyay. Upadhyay gave us the lead for how to serve the country without the expectations. The only expectation should be to develop the social, moral, and economic structure of the country.

Bharatiya Janata Party is a forever follower of Pandit Upadhyay’s vision and ideology. Therefore, BJP knows the responsibilities and needs of present and future politics.
