When citizens can’t move the court, the court comes to their rescue. That’s the basic idea behind ‘Nyaya Aapke Dwar’—a powerful weapon unveiled by Raje government, by which the judiciary delivered justice, right at the doorstep. The initiative benefitted countless natives in Rajasthan, who were silently waiting for fair judgment.

Under ‘Nyaya Aapke Dwar’, Raje government organized ‘help camps’ in different districts and villages, where complainants were denied their rights for a long time. The cases that were pending in courtrooms were settled on spot, thus restoring a native’s faith in law and order.

Here’s how Rajasthan government helped needy natives trapped in complex legal cases.

  • Dhula and Kaana Meena got their Share in Ancestral Property

Dhula and Kana Meena are from Udaipur’s Bara village. Around 30 years back, when they were still young kids, their father succumbed to death. Being young at that time, the siblings were denied their share in the ancestral property. Since their elder brother was over 18 years of age, he was the legal guardian/manager of their family heritage.

For 30 years, Dhula and Kana had to struggle to get their names registered in the list of ancestral property. Despite their efforts, they were denied their rights. After a long-long period of struggle, they presented their problem at ‘Lok Adalat’ camps organized by the government.

There in the camp, the officer-in-charge conducted immediate investigation and instructed the Tehsildars to add their name in family will. This is how Dhula and Kana Meena got justice, after a long-long period of struggle.

  • Kalulal Meghwal was Gifted with a New Life

65-year old Kalulal Meghwal was declared dead in the revenue department records, some 30 years back. On 20th May 1988, the officers in the state revenue department struck his name off the ‘living list’ and he was declared dead. For 28 years, poor Kalu tried hard to convince the officers that he’s very much alive, but no one lent an ear to his problems.

When he filed his complaint in one of the help camps organized under ‘Nyaya Aapke Dwaar’, the revenue court reopened his case and found he was right. The mistake in official records was verified and his claim was established on the disputed property. Kalu thanked the authorities for granting him a ‘new life’.

These are just two out of multitude of success stories, where justice was delivered to the natives. ‘Nyaya Aapke Dwar’ paved way for justice and order in Rajasthan.
