The BJP Government led by Vasundhara Raje in Rajasthan is set to create an amusing ‘Record’ during the Udaipur visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in which he is said to be launching more than 9500 road projects including national highways, state roads and rural paths.

Time and again, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his resolve to bring about a transformational change in the feeble infrastructure in India to positively impact all its citizens. His push for cooperative federalism has encouraged the States to adopt an individualistic approach while working as honest partners in the progress of India. One could say that the alignment of his thoughts with the futuristic vision of Chief Minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje is resulting into something that has never happened before. Sources say that in his upcoming visit to Rajasthan’s Udaipur district, PM Modi is set to create a record of sorts by launching more than 9500 road projects in one go.

9500 Projects Worth 27000 Crores

Early reports say that the Prime Minister will visit Udaipur on the 29th of August and shall be inaugurating and laying foundations for a total of 9500 road-infrastructure based projects with an investment of Rs. 27,000 crores that include development of National highways, state roads and rural roads under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and CM Vasundhara Raje’s Grameen Gaurav Path scheme along with Union Roadways Minister Nitin Gadkari and the Rajasthan Chief Minister.

Massive Rally to Welcome the Prime Minister

The Rajasthan BJP is leaving no stone unturned to welcome the Prime Minister after months. Preparations are being carried out for a mammoth rally at the Maharana Pratap Khelgaon venue located at Chitrakoot Nagar in Udaipur. Administration is all geared up to welcome the people’s Prime Minister while CM Raje herself had visited Udaipur last Sunday to check on the arrangements. Reports say that 109 projects over 3,000 kilometers are being funded by the road transport ministry and National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). The projects mainly include widening of highways and improvement and construction of state roads. They will cost around Rs 15,000 crore. The PM will inaugurate 11 completed NH projects totaling about 873-km in length, including a six-lane cable stayed bridge across the river Chambal in Kota. Majority of these projects fall under the Centre’s rural connectivity programmes along with that of the state government programmes such as PM Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY), Rajasthan Road Sector Modernization Project (RRSMP) and Gramin Gaurav Path. Thirty-one others are on the build-operate and transfer (BOT) model.

Rajasthan is one of the leading states under BOT model which implements the public-private partnership road project.

Modi-Raje Partnership

A Pre-Launch for 2018 Campaign?

Rajasthan holds special significance for both Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje as well as Prime Minister Narendra Modi who was gifted all 25 seats from the desert state. Rajasthan goes into assembly elections in the latter part of 2018 and Raje seems to be gearing up already. A month back, Party President Amit Shah had appreciated the work and leadership of Vasundhara Raje across many forums during his 3-day visit to Rajasthan.  This visit of the Prime Minister comes at a time when air-heads had again begun the whispers of a change of guard. Surely, PM Modi is sending a message to everyone – Vasundhara Raje is the face of BJP in Rajasthan and he will stand by her for the battle next year.
