The Kisan Saga: A Constructed Controversy.
As Congress gears up for Sachin Pilot led, ‘Kisaan Nyay Yatra’ to be held in Baran – Jhalawar from the 3rd to the 6th of October, they do little to hide the primary motive. In a thinly veiled, politically fuelled move, the rally to sway rural votes is a clear indicator of the desperation with which the party is grappling for votes.

Congress’ sudden change of heart to come out and rally in support of farmers, a first at that and their taking on the cause with intense fervour is at best sympathy and at worst – blatant manipulation. With commendable development in the rural sector under the Vasundhara Raje government, Sachin Pilot’s attempt to take BJP on a propaganda driven guilt trip is a poor PR decision and an embodiment of the ignorant world the Congress leaders like Rahul Gandhi live in.

Oblivious to the demands of the farmers in their last term under Gehlot, leaving them on the threshold of misery as they handed over reins to BJP, the nouveau champions of of the farmers cause in Rajasthan are at this point, merely turning over textbook pages to bank on the ever effective and historical legacy of former PM Late Shri Lal Bahadur Shashtri.  The slogan of ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’ resonates with millions across India for a reason, one the Congress fail to understand and now risk smearing in their petty bid to misguide the masses for votes.

An E-governance model that has been awarded and hailed as the best in the Nation, the digitalisation in Rajasthan includes farmers and is focused primarily on uplifting those at the grassroots. With a long list of effective schemes under the Raje Government, the development of Rajasthan is not merely on paper but reflects through the infrastructure, stable economy and growing opportunities for youth.

While schemes such as MJSA, E-Naam, E-Mitra, Bhamashah, Bhamashah Swasthye Bima Yojna, MUDRA Health Cards and Pradhanmantri Fasal Bima Yojna are just some examples of successful work currently underway in the state, the fast changing landscape of Rajasthan’s socio-economic sectors is to be reckoned with.

The Congress are calling the farmers cause their own, while the current Raje Government has taken up and delivered successful global recognition to these farmers through the launch of OLITIA Olive Tea, a result of the Global Rajasthan Agri-tech Meet.  It is easy to point out flaws of those in power and call them out for not doing enough. But to bank on misconstructed facts and incite propaganda driven dialogue for the sake of votes is a new low, even for the Congress.
