    Solving Pending Cases

Right from all the district courts to the High Court, there are more than 7 Lakh cases that are pending in the country. In order to counter this issue, the Union Law Ministry has introduced Justice Clock software. It’s a technological tool that interconnects all the district courts and High Court.

The state governments have been asked to provide the database of all district courts and High Courts which will be used by the software. In this software, the timeline of all the pending cases in these courts will be present on the Justice Clock.

    What will it do?

It will have all the information regarding the number of pending cases, for how long have the cases been pending, how many hearings of the case took place, and what was the reason for the delay. The Ministry of Law will be monitoring all the information and if anything turns out to be wrong, the concerned court will be answerable to the ministry.

    What purpose will it serve?

The purpose of the Justice Clock is to keep a check on the pending cases and ensure a speedy settlement of all the pending cases. Besides, based on the information, the judges and courts will be given a ranking so that the courts are motivated to settle the cases quickly.

    Ranking of Courts and Judges

The courts with less number of pending cases will have good ranks and vice versa. The same will apply to the concerned judges. This will not only help in disposing cases but will also ensure that the work is done more speedily, thereby ensuring efficiency.

    Implementation of Justice Clock

According to the Law Ministry, the software has been developed and is ready to be implemented within one week. If it turns out to bring a positive change in the judicial system, the Justice Clock App will also be developed.

The software has the entire concerned database registered which will be updated on a daily basis. Just by entering the name of the judge and the case number, it will show all the information of the case be it any state or any court of the country
