Panthers in the city became a hazardous routine from some last few days. A panther on the JLN marg became a common thing when it was even captured in the camera. To seize this dangerous routine, the department of forest will build a wall around the Jhalana forest area. After that, these panthers will not be able to enter the public areas and entertain the city people cameras. This project will cost almost Rs. 16.16 crores for almost six meters tall wall boundary.

The wall project will also affect other actions such as enhancement of the habitat, visitors will have improved facilities and water management. The forest area’s entrance gate will also be improved under the “beautification” procedure.

Gajendra Singh Khimsar, who is minister of forest, environment, youth affairs and sports said, “Building a wall is important so that the panthers do not enter the public areas. The budget has been sanctioned in the assembly, but it is difficult to build a 52 km wall in seven crores. We will be approaching some private players for this”.

Understanding the sensitivity of the matter, the project will receive an early approval. Sonal Jourihar, divisional forest officer said, “The project will soon be approved by the Chief Wildlife Warden”.

The Jhalana Forest Area will soon be declared as Conservation Reserve very soon. A close source of the department said, “Wildlife Protection Act will not be applicable to the forest area before it is declared as a conservation reserve. The suggestions for this have been sent to the state government”.

The Shikaar Houdi will also be opened for the visitors but with a restricted entry. Along with this, the third track will also be opened for easy mobility.

Jahalana forest area will soon be accompanied with gypsies and electric vehicles for sight seeing.  To travel to and from the temple the option of e-rickshaws will also be available.
