After winning against BJP in a close battle in assembly elections in Rajasthan, now the Congress has another task to complete. The Rajasthan PCC and INC are now struggling to decide the new Chief Minister of Rajasthan as Former CM Ashok Gehlot and newbie- Sachin Pilot in the locked position. Here we recall Gehlot’s “Kaun Banega Crorepati?” remark during the election campaign.

Not only in Rajasthan, but Madhya Pradesh CM seat is also a ‘game of throne’ between Jyotiraditya Scindia and Kamal Nath.

Having won the Assembly election in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi now has to settle the CM question in these states with any delay threatening rifts months before general elections.

    The Cong in Confusion

While cold war brews between the Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gehlot camps in Rajasthan, Jyotiraditya Scindia has said he is ready to take the CM’s responsibility, rivaling Kamal Nath’s apparent claim to the top job. Earlier in the day, both Scindia and Nath had handed the Congress’ letter staking claim to government formation to Governor Anandiben Patel.

With the Congress wresting the three heartland states, the reverses for the BJP have thrown open the 2019 Lok Sabha elections which until a few months ago appeared to be in the grip of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s party.

The Assembly polls held for five states also saw the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) recording a landslide win for a second consecutive term and the Mizo National Front (MNF) scripting a spectacular victory dislodging the Congress in its last bastion in the Northeast to return to power after 10 years. Rajasthan and MP have been waiting to see Congress’s “Crorepati” since yesterday.
