Exit polls predict Lotus bloom in Rajasthan, BJP likely to get 23 to 25 seats

    The Bharatiya Janata Party is all set to sweep other parties in Rajasthan in Lok Sabha Elections results. The exit polls result have predicted that the BJP to win at least 23 seats in the desert state, limiting Congress to a possible victory on two seats.

    The exit poll results are surprising as only a few months ago Rajasthan electoral had rejected the BJP government in the state to bring Ashok Gehlot-led Congress to power.

    According to India today, BJP and its allies are expected to get 54% votes, Congress is likely to 36%, while others may get 10% votes in the final tally.

    Some channels even predicted that the BJP is going to impose a full sweep in the desert state like 2014 elections.

    In 2014 Lok Sabha elections the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 25 seats in Rajasthan. The Congress and BJP are in a direct contest in Rajasthan. In December last year, Congress unseated the BJP to form its own government in the state.

    The Lok Sabha elections in Rajasthan were held in two phases. Rajasthan has a total of 25 Lok Sabha seats. The state went to poll on April 29 and May 6.

    Seats like Tonk-Sawai Madhopur, Ajmer, Pali, Jodhpur, Barmer, Jalore, Udaipur, Banswara, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand, Bhilwara, Kota and Jhalawar-Baran went to poll in Phase 4 that was held on April 29.

    The remaining Lok Sabha seats– Ganganagar, Bikaner, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Jaipur Rural, Jaipur, Alwar, Bharatpur, Karauli-Dholpur, Dausa, Nagaur-went to poll in the fifth phase on May 6.

    The official result of the 2019 Lok Sabha seat will be announced by the Election Commission on May 23.
