Congress government’s massive farm loan waiver has landed into the scam prospects. In Rajasthan’s Dungarpur district, many irregularities have been found in the distribution of loan. The issue emerged after a list of beneficiaries of waiver was issued post the farm loan waiver announcement by the Rajasthan government.
The list shows the loans were picked up in the name of those farmers who never received the amount. Meanwhile, BJP’s state president Madan Lal Saini said, ‘It should be investigated and action should be taken against culprits.’
Some of the farmers from Dungapur district said that they checked the record on the portal. There are 500 such people from my village. The farmers suggested that an audit should be conducted to know since when this loan is being given and since when it is being taken. Farmers are planning to meet the Collector in demand of action should be taken against guilty officials.
The villagers in Jethana region of Dungarpur have handed over a memorandum to the Collector and complained to the cooperative MD as well. In Govadi, around 1780 farmers have been shown as recipients of Rs eight crore of the loan amount. The villagers have demanded a detailed investigation in the loan disbursement.
The alleged fraud has surfaced in several areas of Dungarpur district including Govadi, Nandor, Jethana, apart from several other villages.
After being voted to power, the Congress-led state government waived off farm loans that were given through cooperative banks. However, massive irregularities were allegedly committed in the disbursement of these loans.
This much-anticipated farm loan waiver was a massive promise by the Congress party president Rahul Gandhi to woo voters in Rajasthan. After getting into power the state government was in a haste to announce the waiver. So, it is well said that the haste makes waste.
