    Baba Ramdev also known as Baba Ramdevra is worshipped in Rajatshan. On the occasion of Margashir Shukla side Dashami, Baba ramdev was bathed with milk. This was happened at Ramdevji temple at the Nahari Kanaka on Baba Ramdev Marg. In fact, after milk bath baba Ramdev was offered a warm dress. On this occasion, prayers were offered to baba Ramdevra. Baba Ramdev was offered several things. Devotees offered mawa, gajak, pindakhajoor, tilpatti, gudi-peung, and churma Laddus. He has been visited by hundreds of devotees.

    Who is Ramdev?

    Ramdevra or Baba Ramdevji is one of the Hindu folk deity of Rajasthan. Ramdev is considered to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It was believed that he had some miraculous powers. He was a ruler of fourteenth century who devoted his life for the upliftment of downtrodden people of the society. He was born on Bhadarva Shukla Dooj in V.S. 1409.  BabaRamdevra is also worshipped by Muslims too and they call him as Ramshah Pir or Rama Shah Peer.

    Basically, the Meghwal community of Rajasthan worships Ramdev Vedwa Punam (August – September). There are some claims about his origin. As Meghwal community says he was born in their community while according to folktales, it is believed that he was born in Tanwar Rajput community.

    Temple of Baba Ramdev is 12 kilometers away from Pokhran on Jodhpur – Jaisalmer road. There is Ramdevra Fair held every year in months of August and September which is attended by huge no. of people. On visiting the temple, idols and pictures clearly depict the devotion of Baba Ramdev for his people.

    • Winter: 5:00am to 9:00pm
