The Annapurna Rasoi Yojana which kicked off across all Rajasthan states has proved to be a benison, in every sense of the word.
Rajasthan government led by CM Vasundhara Raje pioneered this initiative with a highly noble objective to ensure that Rajasthan public is fed with two full meals a day.
Annapurna Rasoi scheme operates through mobile kitchens which serve meals at economic rates in different part of the city.
The mobile kitchens offer breakfast at Rs. 5, lunch and dinner at Rs. 8. 80. An initial budget of Rs 14 crore has been allocated for the scheme which was launched on December 15, 2016.
“I feel that people, especially migratory labourers who come to Jaipur in search of work, will benefit from this initiative as food will be available at a nominal price. Our special emphasis is on maintaining the cleanliness and serving hygienic food,” said CM Raje.
“After the initial launch, our aim is to run around 300 such Annapurna Rasois in different cities,” CM Raje added.
The menu includes delicacies made of wheat, rice, corn, nutritious grains and vegetables. Staple Rajasthani dishes such as Gehu ka Mitha Khichda, Besan Gatta Pulao, jawar ki Mitha Khichra and Dal Dhokli are savoured by people across the state.
More than 25 ‘Annapurna Rasois’ (mobile kitchens) will be running in Jaipur. These kitchens will be stationed at high footfall areas and localities.
Not only this, cities and districts like Jodhpur, Kota, Ajmer, Udaipur, Bharatpur, Baran, Banswara, Dungarpur, Pratapgarh and Jhalawar-Jhalarapatan have tremendously benefitted from this scheme.
Weaker sections, below poverty line, daily labourers, factory workers, farmers, rickshawallas, auto and taxi drivers, students, women, senior citizens, disabled people, etc. are entitled to consume nutritious and healthy food., which is why the Annapurna Rasoi Yojana is considered as the most stellar schemes of all times.
